FAQ
1. Is there a minimum hire period?
Yes, the minimum period is normally 8 weeks but this can be dependant on your location.
2. What are the delivery charges?
A delivery charge will apply, depending on your location from £49. Please phone us with your postcode for a quote. All charges are levied “at cost”, and enable us to keep our hire charges low.
3. How do I pay?
When your booking is confirmed you will be asked for credit or debit card details. Payment will then be taken for the first 4 weeks hire plus the delivery fee. Upon delivery we ask for two forms of I.D Subsequent monthly hire fees are collected on the same day each month, using the card you originally used.
4. How do I cancel?
We require a minimum of seven days notice to down-hire, please note that we only hire 4 weekly, so part months or late notice will result in a full period charge.
5. Do I insure the equipment?
Most household contents insurance policies cover you for goods on hire which are resident in your home, but we recommend you contact your insurer or check your policy to confirm this.
6. What about looking after the equipment?
The equipment we hire is robust and practical, but all measures to keep it clean and damage free are the responsibility of the hirer. For full details please refer to our ‘Hire Agreement’.
7. What happens if the machine goes wrong?
Any faults/defects must be reported to HomeGym as soon as possible and an engineer will call to rectify any problems. If necessary, we will replace the machine. HomeGym reserve the right to charge for damage/breakage caused through lack of care or abuse.
8. What if I get bored with the equipment?
Due to the wide range of equipment that HomeGym stock we can change machines if you become bored! After the second months hire, contact us and we will replace the machine as soon as possible with an alternative. (subject to availability and transport costs etc).
9. How much room do I need?
The treadmills take up the most room, and you will need to allow about 80cm x 200cm (36” x 86”). You will also need a mains power supply close to most machines.
10. Where can the machines be used?
The heavier machines cannot be carried up flights of stairs, or maneuvered around very easily. If you are in any doubt, please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
11. What offers / discounts are available?
There are often discounts and special offers available to our registered members. Contact us to find out more.
12. If I like the equipment can I keep it?
Of course, with HomeGym you can buy new or used fully serviced equipment. If you have entered into a hire agreement and decide to buy we can offer you a discount off your previously paid hire fees against the total cost of your chosen machine. (subject to terms and conditions).
13. Do you make credit checks?
More of an identity check really, we will ask you prove your identity and its link to the household the machine has been delivered to, for example a current utility bill or drivers licence. The debit/credit card payment will need to be completed by the account holder, and this should match the signature on the hire agreement when delivered. All our machines are data tagged for security.
14. What if I haven’t exercised for a while?
We recommend that if you are new to exercise you contact your GP and get some advice on the sort of machine that would be most suitable for you, take our details along to your doctor and discuss the options. In all cases where you are starting a new exercise program, allow time to warm up and down with some simple stretching. Handy hints and tips can be found in our weblog and newsletter.
